Bender Stik

I bought the Bender Stik to help me with a specific tendency of mine, a hold-off release.  The idea was to have the Bender Stik in position after the strike to help me commit to releasing the club more around and to the left, rather than hold it off and finish high and fake a finish.  I was excited to get it and get out on the range and give it a try. Unfortunately, I wasn’t very impressed.  It was a bit unruly and hard to control and keep it where I needed it.  It would get out of balance because it was at an angle and eventually rotate toward the ground, defeating the purpose.

I realize there are other drills one can use with the Bender Stik, but for me, these drills really aren’t that important, nor would they help my golf swing at this time.  So, it was just another piece of practice equipment that didn’t quite work out the way I hoped it would.

I have seen that Bender Stik now offers a base, but this wasn’t an option when I bought it.  I have the spike, stick-in-the-ground version.

If you have problems with head movement, chicken wing, or hip swaying, this may be an option for you, but for any more advanced swing issues, I wouldn’t recommend it.
